June 20, 2007: Green Hangman

On tonight's show, Ken and Andy challenged their green listeners to a game of hangman. This is apparently because we only have one planet... or something. Instead of hanging some poor, helpless stick figure, the punishment for not solving Andy's hangman puzzle was listening to the song "Steamroller" by James "I'm a wiccan" Taylor.

Next week: The Seven Second Delay Trivia Game!

Just for the record, Andy never changed the letter as Ken feared.

I have proof: Andy thought I sounded so dumb that he gave me a BIG hint before i picked 'B' for Beth [<--too sentimental for 7SD-Andy] as I was thinking up my non-brilliant letter Andy said, obnoxiously, "GOOD luck, I'm just saying GOOD luck". And when I heard it on the web a minute later I said "GOOD GOD I'M SLOW!"

What a sad realization. I think I liked it better back when I wasn't able to call because I was on the TRAIN being green.

Apparently, according to this week's callers, you can be green while still driving alone to work as long as

a) it's only a very short distance (so you're not using much gas)

or

b) it's a long way (so you have to drive)

So what exactly would be the distance which you would have to drive alone to work in order NOT to be green?

I'm sorry. What was that word Ken used? "wackimal"?

I googled it. NO "DO YOU MEAN..."!!! Just one entry.

Ken? Anyone? Help? My head's spinning...

I think he said 'whack a mole' - referring to the popular carnival game (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whack_a_mole) - evoking the image of a person striking vainly at an enemy that disappers and reappears again at a different point. He commented that it was the wrong metaphor but it seemed like a pretty good one to me. Unless he said something completely different and I just invented this whole usage.

Zero,
For the record, your comment was not deleted. It's under Homework Helper. "The Man" is not censoring your astute favorite letter guessing.

austin: No, I know. I commented the same thing under this topic as well, though. Again: It doesn't matter.

This was definitely one of the funnier shows. I was cracking up, especially when Ken was demanding that Andy write the letter down...
